Some mercs have arrived in Königsberg, enjoying a rest in their goblin-hunting mission. Amongst their number was a big fella named Pedro, who really knew how to handle his flamberge. In friendly bouts he beat us all, one by one.
Together with the stunties we made a plan for fixing their pipe, as well as providing an ideal outlet for our river. Only downside was they were going to spend 5 decades doing it.
A bit of deft negotiations saw us refine this plan to one where we provide young mason apprentices, and they lead the task of building a “prototype”, stop-gap, temporary solution, because we “can’t do shoddy work”. As part of the negotiations, we have agreed to act as “procurement agents” for them, providing cattle and sheep for what appears to be a pretty sweet financial compensation. We left the site with a crate of 1200 gold crowns, which our new mercenary friends seemed to find very interesting. Better keep an eye on them.
The stunties also showed us a hidden mine-complex running below and past our settlement, and we made a plan to connect this to our mine in order to drain out all the water. Once the water-source is closed off, this should leave our mine mostly dry!
Of course, things are never that easy. While working to dig this new tunnel, we set our mercs to explore and map the caves to better prepare for any … surprises. Turns out the surprise was Pedro, who was not at all what he seemed. He came rushing up from the mines below, dragging his decapitated brother-in-arms, saying something about beeing ambushed by 20-40 greenskins, and having beaten them all of. We prepare for attack, but something about Pedro and his story seems … off. We follow him, and corner him in a room where he is “tending” a wounded miner, by “sucking clean his wound”.
Turns out Pedro was a vampire. Some Blood Dragon or something, and BOY did he take a lot of punishment before going down. Dealt out a fair bit too. But we took him down, took his sword, and then high-tailed it out of there as the mine broke and the water, all that water (which is coming from our mine, by the way) came rushing down
